September 11, 2023 Meeting Minutes

The monthly meeting of township Supervisors was called to order at 1986 Elimsport Rd, Montgomery, PA. Members present were M. Goetz, R. Crawford and J. Sear. Also present was secretary Tracy Blaker.

Motion by M. Goetz to approve minutes from March’s meeting; first J. Sear second R. Crawford. Motion carried.

Motion by M. Goetz to approve treasurer’s report as submitted; first John Sear, second R. Crawford. Motion carried.

Police report – on file

Sewer report – Pump at Staggert’s Grove needs entire system replaced due to system tripping and pooling water at pump. Proposal for replacement comes in at approx. $15,400. Mike Goetz made a motion to approve an amount not to exceed $16,000 to replace system. John Sear 2^nd-Motion approved.

Discussion regarding Brady Twp. inflow and infiltration issues. It was recommended by WBRA that Brady conduct home inspections as a way to identify inflow which is likely coming from the laterals, either from sump pumps, down spouts or damage to the laterals. In-home inspections would be an effective way to identify the issues and discuss with homeowners how to remediate them. Mike Goetz asked Jeff Siverling to crunch some numbers to give us a better idea of the current cost of processing the excess inflow vs. the savings we may see if remedied after the home inspections.

Old Business –

Signs for the recycling area have been delivered and are ready to be installed.

New Business-

Road work (seal coat) was completed on Fritz Station and Cemetery Hill Road. A resident called in with complaint of water running off Fritz directly into his yard. Roadmaster along with PennDot traveled to the property to see what could be done. There was not an issue with the road according to PennDot, but advised Roadmaster to review area again right after a heavy rain to see if it can be determined where the water is pooling and why.
